LIVE UNITED Advocacy Alert: SB1103

LIVE UNITED Advocacy Alert:
Encourage the Governor to Sign SB 1103 to Support Health and Human Services

The Problem: Illinois’ governor has not signed the Senate appropriation bill that will allow our state to reverse the budget cuts that will affect health and human services programs for residents in need of important services like mental health care, substance abuse treatment and emergency shelter. Without a signature from the governor by December 6, thousands of persons with serious needs will be affected.

You can help: Contact our governor and ask him to sign SB 1103 as passed by the House and Senate-and pass this alert on to others so that they can do the same.

How: Contact the governor.

1. Write a letter to the Governor to explain the impact of the cuts on you, your program, and your community. Thank him for signing SB 790 and urge him to promptly sign SB 1103 as passed by the House and Senate. His fax numbers are 217-558-0897 (Springfield) and 312-814-5512 (Chicago).

2. Call the governor at 217.782.6830 (Springfield) or 312.814.2121 (Chicago).

If you need additional assistance in obtaining the appropriate contact information or otherwise have questions regarding this request, email advocate@uw-mc.org .
