More than 40 Northern Trust GOLD Program members and summer interns took time off their work schedule today to paint the Daniel Webster Elementary School on the city’s west side. The volunteer paint crew gave the exterior of the school a new paint job and re-finished the basketball court lines, completing the massive job in one afternoon. According to principal, Princetta Preston the volunteer crew saved the school thousands of dollars normally not available in a school budget. The volunteer group took part in a United Way Day of Caring—volunteer activities that United Way coordinates with companies and individuals who are willing and able to volunteer for a good cause.
