Accenture employees collected enough food items to provide Thanksgiving dinner to 10 Chicago-area families.
As part of United Way’s Day of Caring program, 60 employees at Accenture’s finance division hosted their second annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Led by Afra Hessami from Strategic Planning & Analysis at Accenture, 15 Chicago-area families received donated food baskets.
The food collection included turkey and all the trimmings for families from United Way agency partner, Hull House. Last year, Accenture finance employees provided Thanksgiving dinner for eight families.
“After last year’s success the food drive was almost expected by our finance employees this year. People were ready to contribute in any way possible,” sad Hessami. “It’s a great opportunity for all of us to recognize how blessed we are and in return share those blessings with others. It is heartwarming to know we had a hand in ensuring that these families could take part in a special dinner together without having to worry about where their next meal was coming from.”
The Jane Addams Hull House Association helps Chicago-area families become stronger, healthier, safer and more self-sufficient in many Chicago neighborhoods. United Way salutes the caring folks at Accenture for their generosity and for LIVING UNITED this holiday season. Their hard work and dedication was featured in the Chicago Tribune.
