February 7: United Way on CBS Sunday Morning

Tune into the CBS Sunday Morning show this Sunday, February 7th for a story featuring United Way Worldwide President and CEO Brian Gallagher.

The segment centers on “The Power of Half”, a book coming out next month that tells the story of an Atlanta family who, inspired by their teenage daughter Hannah, decided to downsize from their expensive home and donate half of the money from the sale to charity. As they worked together to decide how much they should give and to whom, the Salwen family made some interesting discoveries about helping others and became closer to one another in the process.

Brian Gallagher will shed light on what makes Americans give as well as how the recession has affected communities and charitable donations.
