Tocqueville Society takes on Alumni Blackhawks – and wins!

On January 13, Team Tocqueville challenged legendary Blackhawks players Cliff Koroll, Jack O’Callahan, and Denis Savard in a 5 on 3 Power Play on the ice at the United Center. We were proud of Team Tocqueville and Coach Waddell for their win over the Blackhawks Alumni. The friendly game was sponsored by Harris/BMO Capital Markets and was part of the Tocqueville Dinner and Skating with the Blackhawks. The evening showcased Harris/BMO Capital Markets as a leading partner with United Way as well as recognized the United Way Tocqueville Society. In addition to the game, Tocqueville donors and their families were treated to free time on the ice, a locker room tour, dinner at the Harris Club in the United Center and a hockey clinic lead by the Blackhawks alumni team. See pictures of the event here.

“Laura and I greatly enjoyed a very special evening with our family and United Way friends as we skated with Chicago Blackhawks veterans at the United Center. Truly, the most valuable part of the evening was sharing with our daughters, Kayla (13) and Ali (10), the importance of getting involved to better our communities around greater Chicagoland.” said Jeff Malehorn, President & CEO of GE Capital, Healthcare Financial Services.

The United Way Tocqueville Society is comprised of extraordinary philanthropists who give $10,000 or more annually to United Way. Last year Tocqueville donors collectively raised more than $9 million to support programs focused on health, income and education.
