This season, United Way of Metropolitan Chicago is rallying the good in all of us to focus our attention on giving kids the gift of education. Education is the cornerstone of individual and community success and we know there is unstoppable power in the strength of a neighborhood when kids have the opportunities and resources they need to thrive in 2012 and beyond.
New Year. Bright Future. gives YOU the power to be an integral part of this social movement through United Way’s Education Initiative. By focusing on two strategies, ensuring kids 0-5 enter school with the skills they need to learn and helping middle school students transition into high school, we aim to transform the lives of 50,000 local children.
Please consider giving the gift of education this year through New Year. Bright Future.
Across our region, 31 United Way early childhood education programs are aimed at ensuring kids 0-5 enter school with the skills they need to succeed. Whether at home, with relatives or in childcare, the quality of early experiences is key to later school success. GIVE to United Way’s Education Initiative so kids can receive the quality childcare, family support and early intervention activities they need to start 2012 off on the right track.
GIVE to the Education Initiative
Across our region, 26 United Way middle school education programs are aimed at ensuring students transition to high school successfully and are on track to graduate. Middle school is where the rubber meets the road and if kids are behind when they enter 9th grade, they are more likely to drop out of high school. GIVE to United Way’s Education Initiative so students receive the mentoring and tutoring they need in the 6th - 9th grade to start 2012 on track to graduate.
