The 2011 Deloitte and United Way Alternative Spring Break has officially come to a close.
Emotions were close to the surface today as we said goodbye not only to the High Road Academy students we’ve worked with all week, but also to our ASB team members. After today, our mural (one of two) is officially finished! It looks so much better than I ever thought it would. Of course, I had to suspend some of my obsessive/compulsive issues with straight lines and clean painting but once I got over that stuff I began to see the true beauty in our work.

I am honored to be able to act as a team lead in the 2011 Maximum Impact Alternative Spring Break (ASB) with Deloitte and United Way during the week of March 11 – 18 in Washington DC. ASB supports students in at-risk communities inside and outside of the classroom.
