The Course
The course is a flat 5K route through Cantigny Park, starting and ending at the Visitor’s Center and passing some of Cantigny’s signature attractions: tanks, museums and beautiful gardens and landscaping.
Walkers are welcome to bring strollers but are kindly asked to congregate at the back of the starting line. We cannot allow pets, bicycles or skates.

Fees
Pre-registration fees (by 5/5):
Ages 12+: $25
Ages 5-11: $10
Day-of registration fees (assuming registration limit is not met):
Ages 12+: $30
Ages 5-11: $15
Packet Pick-up
Race day registration and packet pick-up will be available at the Visitor’s Center from 6:30 am-7:45 am. Each participant will receive a timing chip that must be returned upon completing the race. All chips not returned will result in a $25 fee.
Teams
We encourage people to form and join teams for this race for a chance to win an award for biggest team! Register online to form or join a team!
Fundraising
Running or walking a 5K is a big deal! Help United Way of the DuPage Area serve even more people by raising additional funds from your family and friends. To set up your own personal fundraising page, contact Sonya Davis at sonya.davis@uw-mc.org or 630-645-6341. If you’re the biggest fundraiser, you’ll get a special award!
Awards
Awards will be given to the overall first-place female and male finisher, as well as the top three female and male finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and above.
Special awards will be given to the biggest team and the biggest fundraiser.
T-shirts
All participants will receive a short-sleeved race t-shirt at packet pick-up.
Entertainment
Live music will be provided by The Salt Creek Boys, a classic Roots and Rock band that has played extensively through the Chicago and DuPage area. You won’t want to miss this lively group! With a wide range of genres and dynamic vocal abilities, The Salt Creek Boys always create a unique live entertainment experience.

Pre/Post-Race Stretching and Massages
Registered participants can enjoy complementary stretching and massages provided by DuPage Chiropractic Centre, Ltd. of Glen Ellyn. Services will be available from 7 AM – 9:30 AM on the day of the race.

United Way of the DuPage Area’s Inaugural LIVE UNITED 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, beginning at 8 am at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL. The address is 1S151 Winfield Road in Wheaton.
Parking and entrance to Cantigny is included in the race registration fee, so plan to spend the day there with your family!
This race will benefit United Way of the DuPage Area, the largest non-governmental funder of health and human service organizations in DuPage County. We focus on strengthening families by promoting Income, Education and Health, and this 5K Run/Walk is a way to bring families and our communities together and promote fitness.
