Leadership Givers strengthen Chicagoland through annual gifts of $1,000 or more to United Way. These donations are leveraged across the most effective, measurable programs addressing issues around income, education, and health in our communities of greatest need.
Leadership Giving Impact
- INCOME - A $1,000 Leadership Gift can support financial coaching to help a family balance their budget and pay down their debt
- EDUCATION - A $2,500 Leadership Gift can support tutoring for 10 middle schoolers to keep them on track to graduate
- HEALTH - A $5,000 Leadership Gift can support fresh fruits and vegetables for 50 people

- Learn, Network and Volunteer - As a Leadership Giver, you can receive updates on the impact of your investment by signing up for our LIVE UNITED newsletter at the top of this page. You will also receive invitations to exclusive issue awareness and networking events and opportunities to participate in volunteer projects with other Leadership Givers.
- Be Recognized as a Leader – United Way is proud to recognize our Leadership Givers on our online Leadership Giving Directory. Leadership Giving Directory coming soon!
- Qualify for the Leadership Giving Raffle – Leadership Givers are eligible to win great prizes in our annual Leadership Giving Raffle. Enter the Leadership Giving Raffle now!

Women’s Leadership Council
- Women who give at the Leadership Giving level are invited to participate in the United Way Women’s Leadership Council. Learn more about Women’s Leadership Council here.
Tocqueville Society Step Up Program
- Leadership Givers have the opportunity to reach the next level of philanthropy by joining the Tocqueville Society Step Up Program. This program allows donors to be fully acknowledged as members of the Tocqueville Society (philanthropists who give $10,000 or more annually) by committing to a four-year contribution plan. Nicor’s Education Initiative Leadership Giving Challenge Grant
- Nicor encourages each of us to support United Way through the Education Initiative. All new and increased Leadership Gifts designated to this initiative will be matched 1-to-1 (up to $50,000).
