Tax Assistance Program

In 2011, the Center for Economic Progress and Ladder Up worked with 2,300 volunteers to file more than 23,000 tax forms, securing $50 million in tax refunds to lower-income families and communities throughout the Chicago area. You can help make a difference in the lives of families in need.

Chicago Career Tech

Chicago Career Tech, in partnership with United Way, is an innovative job retraining initiative that integrates classroom training and hands-on learning with a business or non-profit organization to provide unemployed middle-income workers with the skills necessary for high-demand technology-based careers.

Organizations can get involved by serving as host sites for hands-on learning for a four-to-six month period to provide an opportunity for participants to implement the skills they are learning in the classroom.
