Q: Give 5 Gear?
A: Pick a day during the week of June 15 (or the whole week if you like). For a $5 United Way contribution, each employee at your office can wear jeans, a jersey, a wacky hat, tie or other fun Give5Gear in the office.
Q: Why?
A: Lots of people are facing crisis due to the challenging economy, and funding for health and human services just can’t keep pace with the skyrocketing need. United Way created Give5Here in response-because if everyone pitches in and gives $5, together we can make a big difference for people who need help right now. Making your gift even more powerful, The Chicago Community Trust has generously provided up to $500,000 in matching funds to help people with food, shelter and homelessness prevention, as well as crisis counseling, assistance to seniors and other immediate needs. For every dollar raised, the match instantly adds another dollar. Asking everyone in your company to Give $5 to wear their Give 5 Gear is an easy, simple and fun way to raise up to $1,000,000 to improve lives.
Q: Just how easy, simple and fun is it to participate?
A: Extremely. We’ll provide you with everything you need to make your Give 5 Gear day(s) a success, including participation stickers, table tents and customizable flyer templates. And when it’s over, we’ll come to you to pick up the contributions-cash, check, or whatever works best for you!
