Lorelei Beaucaire: Chief Professional Officer

As CPO of the North Shore United Way, Lorelei covers a footprint of 18 communities, having successfully merged various community United Way organizations over the past several years. As CPO she manages the renewal and growth of fundraising through a robust combination of residential, foundation, workplace and major gift strategies, and manages relations with the North Shore Board, community impact work and the development of the North Shore team. Prior to joining the United Way in 2006, Lorelei was the program director at LEAD, a United Way partner agency that raises awareness and offers resources addressing issues facing parents today. Earlier in her career, she spent fifteen successful years with Marsh and McLennan, in Minneapolis and New York. In the community Lorelei has volunteered with the March of Dimes (Star Chefs Committee), served as PTO President at the Kipling School in Lake Forest, Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield and on Executive board of Newcomers Club (2001-2004) in Lake Forest. Marion Flynn: Development Manager

Marion is a United Way Development Manager, working with leadership donors and workplaces to support local North Shore agencies. Prior to joining United Way in July 2011, Marion helped raise $1 million for Frances Xavier Warde (FXW), an interfaith Catholic school where 30% of students receive scholarships. Marion transitioned into nonprofit development after spending the large part of her career in banking, ultimately leaving the Bank of America as Senior Vice President. Marion has been a loyal United Way supporter for more than 30 years, including serving as Chairperson of the United Way of Evanston Board (member for eight years), campaign leader at Continental Bank, and fundraising Loaned Executive for United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. Though a Massachusetts native, Marion has been a community leader in the Chicago region. She was a member of the board and chair of the Chicago Abused Women Coalition (sponsored the Greenhouse Shelter), and spent 10-years serving on the Evanston Parks and Recreation Board (including during the creation of what is now the Levy Center). Marion has an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern, and a BA in English and Religious Studies from Newton College of the Sacred Heart. She is an active member of St. Nicholas church in Evanston, where she also manages a women’s softball team. Email Marion!

Mary Teeter: Development Manager

Mary Teeter joined the North Shore United Way as Development Manager after two and a half years serving in the United States Peace Corps. Working in education and community development in western Ukraine, Mary taught in a local school, developed programs on community health and youth trainings for HIV/AIDS awareness, managed a volunteer-run Environmental Working Group and served on a grant committee awarding $350,000 to local community projects. Prior to Peace Corps, Mary worked in public affairs at Edelman Public Relations in Washington, D.C. and London, England. At the North Shore United Way, Mary supports local businesses and organizations with employee campaigns. She also helps to organize special events and area-wide communications efforts, in addition to engaging new companies across the region in support of LIVE UNITED 2020. Originally from Gettysburg, PA, Mary graduated from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Prior to graduating, she spent a year studying literature at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She loves to travel. E-mail Mary!

Jessica Vlahogiannis: Program Manager

As program manager for United Way, Jessica manages all agency relationships and grant-making on the North Shore. She develops community initiatives in our three issue areas Education, Income and Health, and works closely with North Shore community partners to leverage resources and strengthen advocacy and community engagement efforts. Jessica has a Masters degree in Nonprofit Administration, with a Certificate in Fundraising Management, from the North Park University in Chicago. At North Park, she consulted with various nonprofit organizations on board development, fundraising, and strategic planning. Her previous roles included working in fundraising and grant writing for Chicago area nonprofit organizations, such as Voices for Illinois Children and The Story Workshop Institute. Jessica has a background in creative writing, with a Bachelor of Arts creative writing degree from Columbia College Chicago. During her studies at Columbia she had the opportunity to teach writing to 4th and 5th grade students in Chicago public schools. Jessica lives in Evanston with her husband. E-mail Jessica!
