Yesterday marked a big day in United Way history as United Way of Metropolitan Chicago stepped out in our first Gay Pride Parade. Armed with skillfully decorated LIVE UNITED T-shirts, thousands of “I LIVE UNITED!” stickers, and speakers generously donated by Mr. Video, we stormed the streets around 1:30 p.m. and didn’t turn back.

United Way of Metropolitan Chicago is pleased to announce its partnership with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois for the 2009 annual United Way campaign. BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois launched its employee giving campaign on September 14, 2009. Last year employees contributed $1,053,000 to United Way, for a total of over $2 million including the corporate gift and challenge grants.
