Breaking through the Niceties on Failing Education

I received an email recently in lieu of a comment post to my recent blog on the YLS volunteer mentoring activity at an inner city youth center. Although there was overwhelming support for the center and the activity itself, this email cited the following: “…what troubled me…was [the] lack of fundamental education or preparedness.
