Get Involved in United Way’s Week of Caring in Chicago during National Volunteer Week, April 18-24
The United Way Week of Caring will take place Sunday, April 18 through Saturday, April 24, 2010 and will coincide with National Volunteer Week. United Way’s Week of Caring is a celebration of volunteerism across Chicagoland. Multiple volunteer opportunities for groups and individual volunteers will be available each day of the week, allowing every participant and organization to find the experience right for them.

United Way and Good City have partnered with the City of Chicago to connect individuals with mentor opportunities as part of serving in Dr. Martin Luther King’s memory. If you attended Mayor Daley’s Interfaith Breakfast celebrating Dr. King’s work, or would just like to learn more about mentoring opportunities, please call 312.906.2299.

- Distribute Food at Our Pantry
Vision of Restoration is looking for volunteers to distribute food from its food pantry to its clients on Tuesday morning, April 20. - Food Pantry Setup
Vision of Restoration is looking for volunteers to unload and setup their food pantry on Monday morning, April 19th. - Men's Shelter Assistance
REST is looking for volunteers to assist in the nightly running of the Men's Shelter. Help is needed in preparing, serving, and cleaning up dinner, as well as organizing the pantry and cleaning out the refrigerators.
