We are all connected. When families are stable, when children succeed, when individuals stay healthy, our community is stronger. That’s why United Way focuses on Income, Education and Health — the foundation of stable families.

Our goal is twofold: create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems, and help people who are faced with challenges move from crisis, to stability—to independence.

Our vision for Chicagoland is bold:

• Make sure all families are earning a living income.
• Prepare all children to enter kindergarten ready to learn. Ensure our youth graduate from high school ready for college and a career.
• Guarantee that everyone has access to primary and preventive health services.

United Way does what no single organization alone can do. We bring together leaders from government, corporations, human services and the community to develop innovative solutions to local issues. We leverage funding for the network of programs that—together—can make a meaningful, measurable difference.
